Mumford & Sons “Wilder Mind”

We first met Marcus, Ben, Winston and Ted on a Summer's day in 2008 to come up with some ideas for their first single artwork. Since then, we’ve worked on both their debut album, Sigh No More, and 2012’s Babel, so we were pretty stoked when they came to us in December 2014 to design and art direct their eagerly awaited third album, Wilder Mind.

A conscious switch from acoustic to electronic instruments ushered in a new era for the band, both sonically and visually. Wilder Mind reflected the warmth and majesty of the cities the album was recorded in, so the visual identity of the campaign needed to communicate this dual message. This began with Ted Dwane, the band’s bassist (and a talented photographer), who shot the cover in his deeply personal style.

Studio Juice helped bring this coming of age album to life with a campaign that spanned across digital formats and out of home advertising, including a special for Record Store Day in London. Handwritten song lyrics sent to fans, deluxe limited edition 7” box sets and vinyls told the story of the band’s journey.

Wilder Mind was released on 4th May 2015 through Gentlemen of the Road/Island Records.
